Matt is a Canadian-born tech entrepreneur and the founder of ZeroKey, a growth-stage company at the forefront of real-time location systems (RTLS), whose patented Quantum RTLS™ technology leads the industry in accuracy. As the original inventor and visionary behind Quantum RTLS, Matt transformed a “back-of-the-napkin” idea into a high-growth company that serves more than 10% of the Fortune 500 Global. Matt’s passion for software and technology started early; at 11 years old, he learned C-programming at the University of Calgary. Fascinated by software’s potential, Matt began contributing to several open-source projects, including early versions of the Linux 2.2 kernel, long before its rise to modern popularity. He went on to pursue a double major in physics and computer science at the University of Calgary, building a solid foundation in software and tech. Later in his career, Matt played a key role in modernizing and digitizing operations of traditional industries as the Head of Information Systems for Wilo’s North American subsidiaries, a German-based manufacturing giant with global revenue exceeding 2 billion. Through this capacity, Matt experienced firsthand the digitization challenges that manufacturers and traditional industries face in their most critical profit centers. Frustrated with the limitations of existing solutions, Matt left Wilo to develop Quantum RTLS – a hyper-accurate 1.5mm 3D location technology that is over 100 times more accurate than incumbent solutions. His breakthrough concept for ZeroKey’s technology has now led to over 30 patents and has become a critical tool many of the world’s most recognizable brands rely on every day to digitize their operations and manufacture products to the highest standards of quality.
